Google Forms alternative for events Replace Google Forms for events.

Stop building event registration forms from scratch.

For event organizers using Google Forms for RSVPs and registration

Today, in four tabs

Google Forms SurveyMonkey Google Sheets Mailchimp

Not everyone runs all four. Whichever of them you do run, the event details get copied between them by hand, because none of them was built for events.

The swap

After

your-name.getvnt.com
  • A public page for every event, and a calendar of all of them Free

  • A QR code on every ticket, scanned at the door Free
  • Tickets that carry a price, and the live check-in dashboard Pro
  • Newsletters to the people who follow your schedule Free

The gaps

Where Google Forms limits you for events

Google Forms was not built for event management. These are the places the event part has to be done somewhere else.

Google Forms
  1. No built-in ticketing or payment processing
  2. No public event pages or shareable calendar
  3. Responses to track by hand, and a copy of the answers instead of a ticket
  4. No QR code check-in or event day tools

None of that is a fault in Google Forms. It is a general-purpose tool being asked to run an event, which is why the rest of the job ends up in other tabs.

Done natively

What Getvnt gives you over Google Forms

The same work, in the tool that already knows what an event is.

Built-in Ticketing

Sell tickets through Stripe or PayPal, or take a payment link or cash, with automatic confirmations and zero platform fees. Free registration is unlimited on every plan; selling paid tickets is on Pro.

Public Event Pages

Every event gets a shareable page with all the details. No more sending form links with separate info docs.

QR Code Check-in

Every ticket and free registration carries a QR code. Scan it at the door from any phone, on every plan; the live check-in dashboard is Pro.

AI Event Import

Paste event details in any format and AI extracts dates, times, locations, and descriptions automatically.

Tell Me When Tickets Go on Sale

The notify-me form, built into the event page and switched on with one setting. Visitors leave just an email address and hear when tickets go on sale, if the event is cancelled, and shortly before it starts. Free on every plan.

Custom Registration Fields

On Pro, add your own questions to the checkout, per order or per ticket. The answers stay with each attendee and come out in the sales export.

The swap sheet

Google Forms vs Getvnt

Line by line, on the event work. A dash in the Google Forms column means that job is not built in, so today it is living in another tab. A tick in the Getvnt column does not mean free: the three cards below say which plan carries what.

Free

0 NGN

Unlimited events and schedules. Public event pages and a shareable calendar. Two-way Google, Outlook and CalDAV sync. Free RSVP with a capacity limit and no monthly ceiling, scanned at the door. Event graphics, embeddable calendar, built-in analytics, AI event parsing, and 10 newsletter emails a month, each recipient counting as one.

Pro

5 NGN a month

Tickets that carry a price, and the live check-in dashboard. Custom fields on the form, ticket waitlist, promo codes, sales export. The embeddable ticket widget, the REST API and webhooks. 100 newsletter emails a month.

Enterprise

15 NGN a month

Your own domain. Up to five team members. Internal and unlisted events. AI flyer and style generation, AI agenda scanning, WhatsApp event creation, and 1,000 newsletter emails a month.

Two footnotes worth reading before you switch. Your follower list is never capped, but the monthly newsletter allowance counts recipients rather than sends, so one letter to 40 followers spends 40 of it; the automatic digest of new events that confirmed subscribers get does not count against it. And Free is a single team member; extra members are Enterprise. What does not change with the plan is the fee on ticket sales, which is zero on all three. Charging for a ticket is Pro, and it brings every way to get paid with it: Stripe, PayPal, Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash. Past the processor's own fee, the money is yours, and a Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded from the Sales page in full or in part.

Google Forms

About Google Forms

Google Forms is a free form builder used by many event organizers to collect RSVPs and registrations. While it works for basic data collection, it was never designed for event management - leaving organizers to handle payments, tickets and attendee tracking outside the form.

What it is good at

  • Free and easy to set up for basic data collection
  • Familiar interface within the Google ecosystem
  • Flexible custom fields for any type of form
Getvnt

Why switch to Getvnt?

Google Forms collects data, but Getvnt manages your entire event workflow from registration to check-in day.

What moves across

  • Ticket payments through Stripe or PayPal, with zero platform fees
  • Public event pages with all details, not just a form link
  • Automatic confirmation emails and QR code tickets
  • Two-way sync with Google, Outlook and CalDAV keeps everything in one place

Google Forms to Getvnt FAQ

What people ask before they move the event work across.

Is Getvnt a good Google Forms alternative for events?

Yes. Getvnt replaces Google Forms for event registration with built-in ticketing, payments, and attendee management. You can set up your first event in minutes. Paste your event details and AI will extract dates, times, and descriptions automatically.

Is Getvnt really free?

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited events, Google Calendar sync, newsletters, and fan engagement features. Free registration is unlimited and every ticket scans at the door at no cost; selling paid tickets is on Pro at 5 NGN/month, which also adds the live check-in dashboard and every payment method: buyers pay through Stripe or PayPal, or by Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash. No credit card required to start.

Can Getvnt handle custom registration fields like Google Forms?

Yes. Pro plan includes custom fields on ticket forms so you can collect any information you need from attendees. Unlike Google Forms, the data is automatically connected to your attendee records and ticket sales.

Can I replace a notify-me form for an event that is not on sale yet?

Yes, and it is free on every plan. Switch on the "Notify me" card and, on an event with nothing on sale yet, visitors click Tell me when tickets go on sale and leave just an email address, with no account. They get one email when tickets go on sale, one if the event is cancelled, a reminder shortly before it starts, and any notice you choose to send if the date or venue changes. It does not add them to your newsletter, every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and the event editor shows you how many people are waiting.

Can I collect RSVPs for free events without Google Forms?

Yes. Getvnt supports free RSVPs with automatic confirmation emails and an optional capacity limit, with no payment setup at all. Attendees register through your event page, and you get a real attendee list with a QR code for each guest to scan at the door, not just form responses.
