Google Sheets alternative for events Replace Google Sheets for events.

Stop tracking event data in spreadsheets.

For organizers tracking event data and attendees in spreadsheets

Today, in four tabs

Google Sheets Google Forms SurveyMonkey Doodle

Not everyone runs all four. Whichever of them you do run, the event details get copied between them by hand, because none of them was built for events.

The gaps

Where Google Sheets limits you for events

Google Sheets was not built for event management. These are the places the event part has to be done somewhere else.

Google Sheets
  1. Manual data entry for every attendee and ticket sale
  2. No public-facing event pages or ticket purchasing
  3. Formulas and formatting break as sheets grow
  4. No automated confirmations, reminders, or check-in tools

None of that is a fault in Google Sheets. It is a general-purpose tool being asked to run an event, which is why the rest of the job ends up in other tabs.

Done natively

What Getvnt gives you over Google Sheets

The same work, in the tool that already knows what an event is.

Automatic Tracking

Ticket sales, attendee lists, check-ins and refunds are recorded as they happen. No manual data entry or formula maintenance.

CSV Export

On Pro, export your sales to CSV whenever you want the spreadsheet, with the answers to your custom fields included.

Live Dashboard

On Pro, the check-in dashboard shows how many of each ticket type are sold and checked in, and who just arrived. Better than refreshing a spreadsheet.

Team Collaboration

Invite up to five team members on the Enterprise plan. An admin sees ticket sales and runs the door; a viewer is read-only but can scan tickets. Not a shared spreadsheet link.

Refunds, Recorded

Refund a Stripe or PayPal sale in full or in part from the Sales page, and the money goes back through the provider. The sale shows how much has been refunded so far. Free on every plan.

Webhooks & Integrations

On Pro, connect Getvnt to your other tools with webhooks and the REST API. Automate workflows without manual data copying.

The swap sheet

Google Sheets vs Getvnt

Line by line, on the event work. A dash in the Google Sheets column means that job is not built in, so today it is living in another tab. A tick in the Getvnt column does not mean free: the three cards below say which plan carries what.

Free

0 NGN

Unlimited events and schedules. Public event pages and a shareable calendar. Two-way Google, Outlook and CalDAV sync. Free RSVP with a capacity limit and no monthly ceiling, scanned at the door. Event graphics, embeddable calendar, built-in analytics, AI event parsing, and 10 newsletter emails a month, each recipient counting as one.

Pro

5 NGN a month

Tickets that carry a price, and the live check-in dashboard. Custom fields on the form, ticket waitlist, promo codes, sales export. The embeddable ticket widget, the REST API and webhooks. 100 newsletter emails a month.

Enterprise

15 NGN a month

Your own domain. Up to five team members. Internal and unlisted events. AI flyer and style generation, AI agenda scanning, WhatsApp event creation, and 1,000 newsletter emails a month.

Two footnotes worth reading before you switch. Your follower list is never capped, but the monthly newsletter allowance counts recipients rather than sends, so one letter to 40 followers spends 40 of it; the automatic digest of new events that confirmed subscribers get does not count against it. And Free is a single team member; extra members are Enterprise. What does not change with the plan is the fee on ticket sales, which is zero on all three. Charging for a ticket is Pro, and it brings every way to get paid with it: Stripe, PayPal, Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash. Past the processor's own fee, the money is yours, and a Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded from the Sales page in full or in part.

Switching

How to switch from Google Sheets in 3 steps

No migration project. Your next event is the first one you put here.

Step 01

Create your events

Set up events with ticket types and pricing. AI can import event details, and on Pro you can bring an existing guest list over from a CSV, up to 5,000 rows at a time.

Step 02

Sell tickets

Attendees buy tickets online through Stripe or PayPal, several events in one checkout if they like. Sales and attendee lists fill in automatically.

Step 03

Check in and export

Scan QR codes at the door on any plan, and export sales to CSV on Pro for your own reporting.

Google Sheets

About Google Sheets

Google Sheets is a go-to tool for event organizers who need to track attendees, manage guest lists, and organize event details. But spreadsheets were not built for event management - they require manual data entry, have no attendee-facing features, and become unwieldy as events grow.

What it is good at

  • Flexible data structure for any type of tracking
  • Real-time collaboration with team members
  • Free and available to anyone with a Google account
Getvnt

Why switch to Getvnt?

Spreadsheets require manual data entry for every sale and attendee. Getvnt records all of it as it happens.

What moves across

  • Ticket sales, attendees, check-ins and refunds tracked automatically
  • One checkout for several events, paid through Stripe or PayPal
  • CSV export on Pro when you want the data in a spreadsheet
  • A live check-in dashboard on Pro instead of a static sheet

Google Sheets to Getvnt FAQ

What people ask before they move the event work across.

Is Getvnt a good Google Sheets alternative for event tracking?

Yes. Getvnt records ticket sales, attendee lists, check-ins and refunds automatically, so there is no sheet to keep up to date. On Pro you also get the live check-in dashboard and a CSV export for your own analysis.

Is there a free plan for Getvnt?

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited events, Google Calendar sync, newsletters, and fan engagement features. Free registration is unlimited on every plan; selling paid tickets is on Pro at 5 NGN/month, which also adds the live check-in dashboard. Buyers pay through Stripe or PayPal, or by Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash, and every sale lands on the same Sales page.

Can I still export data to a spreadsheet?

Yes. Pro plan includes CSV export of your sales data, so you can use spreadsheets for custom analysis when needed. The difference is that data collection and tracking happens automatically instead of through manual entry.

Can multiple team members access event data at the same time?

Yes, on the Enterprise plan, which carries up to five team members; a free schedule is a single account. An admin runs the schedule day to day and sees its ticket sales, and a viewer is read-only but can scan tickets at the door. Several people can work at once without overwriting each other the way a shared spreadsheet lets you.

Does Getvnt have a REST API for custom integrations?

Yes. The Pro plan includes a REST API that lets you pull event data, attendee lists, and sales information programmatically. Connect Getvnt with your CRM, accounting software, or any other tool.

Can I record refunds, including partial ones?

Yes, from the Sales page, on Pro, alongside the paid ticketing that took the money. A Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded in full or in part, and the money goes back through the provider before the status changes. A partial refund keeps the sale paid and its tickets valid, and the sale shows how much has been refunded so far; a full refund returns the tickets to inventory. A sale paid in cash, by a payment link, Invoice Ninja or Payfast is marked as refunded instead, which records it without moving money.

Can I import the guest list I already keep in a spreadsheet?

Yes, on Pro. Import attendees onto an event from a CSV or by typing them in, up to 5,000 rows at a time, and each attendee you import gets a ticket with a QR code. You choose whether the import emails them their tickets.
