QR Code alternative for events Replace QR Code Generators for events.

QR codes that are built into every ticket.

For organizers using standalone QR tools for event check-in

Today, in four tabs

Not everyone runs all four. Whichever of them you do run, the event details get copied between them by hand, because none of them was built for events.

The gaps

Where QR Code Generators limits you for events

QR Code Generators was not built for event management. These are the places the event part has to be done somewhere else.

QR Code
  1. No connection to attendee data or ticket sales
  2. Manual process to create and assign codes to attendees
  3. No built-in scanning or check-in functionality
  4. Requires building your own verification system

None of that is a fault in QR Code Generators. It is a general-purpose tool being asked to run an event, which is why the rest of the job ends up in other tabs.

Done natively

What Getvnt gives you over QR Code Generators

The same work, in the tool that already knows what an event is.

Automatic QR Tickets

Every ticket sold includes a unique QR code automatically. No manual QR generation or assignment needed.

Scan-to-Check-In

Scan QR codes at the door from the browser on any phone, free on every plan. Each ticket admits once, a second scan warns, and a cancelled or refunded ticket is refused.

Live Dashboard

On Pro, a real-time check-in dashboard shows attendance numbers, the breakdown by ticket type, and who just arrived.

Zero Platform Fees

Every ticket sale carries zero platform fees, whether buyers pay through Stripe or PayPal; you pay only the processor fee. Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link and cash work too.

Complete Event Platform

QR check-in is just one part. Get event pages, calendar sync, newsletters, and AI tools in one platform.

Sale Notifications

On getvnt.com, once your schedule has its own email settings, the first paid sale on each event emails you on every plan, and on Pro every sale can. No dashboard to keep checking.

QR Code Generators vs Getvnt

Line by line, on the event work. A dash in the QR Code column means that job is not built in, so today it is living in another tab. A tick in the Getvnt column does not mean free: the three cards below say which plan carries what.

Free

0 NGN

Unlimited events and schedules. Public event pages and a shareable calendar. Two-way Google, Outlook and CalDAV sync. Free RSVP with a capacity limit and no monthly ceiling, scanned at the door. Event graphics, embeddable calendar, built-in analytics, AI event parsing, and 10 newsletter emails a month, each recipient counting as one.

Pro

5 NGN a month

Tickets that carry a price, and the live check-in dashboard. Custom fields on the form, ticket waitlist, promo codes, sales export. The embeddable ticket widget, the REST API and webhooks. 100 newsletter emails a month.

Enterprise

15 NGN a month

Your own domain. Up to five team members. Internal and unlisted events. AI flyer and style generation, AI agenda scanning, WhatsApp event creation, and 1,000 newsletter emails a month.

Two footnotes worth reading before you switch. Your follower list is never capped, but the monthly newsletter allowance counts recipients rather than sends, so one letter to 40 followers spends 40 of it; the automatic digest of new events that confirmed subscribers get does not count against it. And Free is a single team member; extra members are Enterprise. What does not change with the plan is the fee on ticket sales, which is zero on all three. Charging for a ticket is Pro, and it brings every way to get paid with it: Stripe, PayPal, Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash. Past the processor's own fee, the money is yours, and a Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded from the Sales page in full or in part.

About QR Code Generators

QR code generators are standalone tools that event organizers use to create scannable codes for event check-in, links to event pages, or ticket verification. Using a separate QR tool means manually creating codes, linking them to attendee data, and building your own check-in process.

What it is good at

  • Simple generation of QR codes for any URL or data
  • Customizable QR code designs and colors
  • Can be used for many purposes beyond events
Getvnt

Why switch to Getvnt?

Standalone QR generators create codes, but Getvnt builds QR check-in into every ticket with automatic validation, and a live dashboard on Pro.

What moves across

  • Every ticket includes a unique QR code automatically
  • Built-in scanning that validates tickets and prevents duplicates, free on every plan
  • A live check-in dashboard with real-time attendance on Pro
  • Complete event platform with ticketing, not just QR codes

QR Code Generators to Getvnt FAQ

What people ask before they move the event work across.

Is Getvnt a good QR code generator alternative for events?

Yes. Every ticket sold through Getvnt includes a unique QR code automatically. No need for a separate QR generation tool. QR codes are linked to attendee data for instant validation at the door.

How much does QR code ticketing cost?

Nothing, to start. The free plan takes unlimited free registrations, each with its own QR code, and scanning them at the door is not gated at all. Selling paid tickets is on Pro at 5 NGN/month, which also adds the live check-in dashboard. There are zero platform fees on either, so you only pay the processor: standard Stripe processing is typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, and PayPal charges its own rate.

How does the QR check-in system work?

Each ticket includes a unique QR code emailed to the buyer. At the event, open the scanner on any smartphone and point it at the code. The system validates the ticket, warns on a second scan and refuses a cancelled or refunded one; on Pro, a live dashboard tracks attendance in real time.

Can I use QR check-in without selling tickets?

Yes. Free RSVP events also include QR codes for attendee check-in. You do not need to sell paid tickets to use the QR check-in system. Any registered attendee gets a scannable QR code for event day.

Do I need special hardware to scan QR codes?

No. Any smartphone with a web browser can scan tickets. Open the check-in page on your phone, point it at the QR code, and the attendee is checked in instantly. No app download required.

Can attendees keep their ticket in Google Wallet?

Yes, on installs where Google Wallet is set up, and on every plan. The ticket page, the order page and the confirmation email carry an Add to Google Wallet button, and the pass shows the same QR code, so it scans at the door like the emailed ticket. Free registrations get a pass too.
